Central DuPage Camera Club members are eligible to enter photo images in monthly contests within the club. Outside judges are used for these contests and comments om the images are provided. Contests will be held in both color and mono digital image categories. There are two classes of competitors in each image category based on the experience of the member. Class A is for experienced photographers and Class B is for new or novice photographers. Any type of camera device is allowed including SLR and Mirrorless cameras, cell phones and “Point and Shoot” cameras. Awards and Honorable Mentions will be given in each category and each class. The best images of our club contests will be entered into the monthly Chicago Area Camera Club Association intra-club competition.
We are not at this time holding scheduled contests in the print category within our club. But our members are eligible to submit prints directly to the Chicago Area Camera Club Association Print contests held four times a year.
The club winners for the 2023-24 Annual Awards and the Best of Year photos were presented at the May 2024 meeting. Competition for 2024-2025 commenced in September.
The Wheaton Park District will present awards for the best photos of park district events photographed by Central DuPage Camera Club volunteers. The competition for this annual contest will be announced.
Central DuPage Camera Club members are also eligible to enter three monthly Chicago Area Camera Clubs Association (CACCA) contests held during the year to include:
Nature images
Photojournalism images
Portrait images
Creative images
as well as one contest for Postcard type images
Special Themes DPI competitions for 2024-25 will soon be open. All 8 competitions will open noon on 1 July. In the last week of June the previous year’s (2023-24) competitions will be archived. Special theme is opened to all club members and next year the image size will increase to 1920 by 1080.
